  Stay away. Both my mom and dad suffered because of the complacency of the doctor and nurses at the office. My dad had been suffering from COPD for months, had a couple episodes of pneumonia,and had smoked for his entire life. Dr. Kenninger never thought to order a chest xray for him. By the time he was diagnosed with lung cancer at St. Joseph's Hospital, he only lived another 2 weeks. He never had a chance. Similar situation with my mother. My mom had a condition called Primary Biliary Cholangitis. When she started showing signs of full blown cirrhosis of the liver including confusion, itching, legs and abdomen swelling, and shortness of breath, Dr Kenninger misdiagnosed her condition as a heart problem and had her going to two different cardiologists and a pulmonologist rather than sending her to a liver doctor from the very beginning. Five months later she ended up in the ER with hepatic encephalopathy. The staff had actually seen her that very day and noticed she was experiencing extreme confusion and loss of coordination, but they let her get in the car and drive herself home. It was only after ending up in the hospital that it was determined that her condition had progressed to cirrhosis of the liver. This was November 9th. My mom now lies in a hospice in Raleigh with only a couple days left to live. She never had a chance to get a liver transplant, because of Dr. Kenninger's and his staff's incompetence and complacency.
